Ubiquitin Drug Discovery and Diagnostics 2009 (ARCHIVE)

Date: October 13, 2009 — 14 October 2009
Location: Park Hyatt at the Bellevue (Philadelphia)
The ubiquitin story has launched an exciting new enterprise in molecular medicine. The 2004 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Dr. Aaron Ciechanover and colleagues for uncovering the ubiquitin pathway, which we now know plays a fundamental role in human physiology. Ubiquitin pathways offer drug discovery opportunities that will surpass those recently exploited in the protein kinase field, as evident in the recent approval of Velcade/bortezomib. The ubiquitin conference uniquely brings together academic and pharmaceutical industry leaders to explore novel ubiquitin-based therapeutics and diagnostics. The pre-conference workshop delineates state of the art assay development for primary ubiquitin drug targets -- ligases and deubiquitylases. The general meeting provides academic and pharmaceutical researchers a venue to present recent findings in ubiquitin-related therapeutics.  Approximately 30% of the submitted abstracts will be selected for podium presentation. Finally, the conference’s Ubiquitin Business Round Table affords a unique opportunity for industry and academia to develop collaborations and partnerships.

FUTURE CONFERENCES

Ubiquitin Drug Discovery and Diagnostics 2010

Date: August 23, 2010 — 25 August 2010
Location: Park Hyatt at the Bellevue (Philadelphia)
Due to the increasingly high level of interest in drug discovery targeted toward ubiquitin and ubiquitin-like proteins, we are pleased to announce the 2nd in a series of Ubiquitin Drug Discovery and Diagnostics Conferences. The ubiquitin story continues to grow as more companies exploit this critical regulatory pathway for the discovery and development of therapeutics.I s it likely that he ubiquitome will replace the kinome as the most promising source of new medicines? This conference will enable members of the academic, pharmaceutical, biotech and business communities to exchange ideas and listen to world experts in ubiquitin-based drug discovery, development, and diagnostics. Drug discovery advances and opportunities in oncology, infectious disease, neurodegeneration, inflammation, diabetes, and muscle wasting will be covered.

Detailed program will be published in June 2010. For speaking and sponsor ship opportunities, please contact luthra@vli-research.com
